"A totally awesome idea"

Blake in the car: "I have to go to the bathroom."
Me: "Well, you'll have to hold it."
Blake (in whiny voice): "But I reeeeeally have to go!"
Drew: "Well maybe you could come up here, open the window, pull down your pants and go pee out the window."
Both of them giggle.
My husband: "And if you do that, you'll both be cleaning the car when you get home."
A few seconds later.
Blake: "Drew, THAT was a toootally awesome idea."
More giggling.

Happy Birthday to Kim

The whole family went out on the town to celebrate Kim's birthday Tuesday night. We went to the Old Spaghetti Factory on the Landing. Blake wanted to know what it was called before it was the "Old" Spaghetti Factory.
Some of us including the birthday girl herself enjoyed a horse and carriage ride around the Landing before dinner.
The birthday girl first sat in the back and then decided she was going to sit up front because SHE was the birthday girl :)

This is my photo that I took of Glenda and Grandpa Payne.

This is the one Glenda attempted to take of me and the boys. The ride was a bit bumpy, and it received mixed reviews from the two boys. Drew's assessment of the ride: "I smell horse poop!" he proclaimed numerous times. He also added several times, "I think I'm going to puke!" Blake told him to make sure he wasn't leaning towards him. Great advice, Blake. And make sure you're not leaning toward MOM either. Blake at one point said, "This is beautiful!" So I think he enjoyed it a little more.

And it's not a birthday without one of Tim's fabulous gifts. Here's what Kim received. As you can see Beth is envious of the Tiki Light Fountain. Aren't we all. Happy Birthday, Kim!

Pumpkin carving

We spent Saturday night carving our pumpkins. Blake chose a ghost pattern, and Drew chose a spider. In previous years my two boys have refused to scoop out the pumpkin goo with their hands and wanted to use spoons. I told them they had to scoop out at least one handful this year. Drew didn't really mind.

Halloween Legos

Blake and Drew were Legos this year, and the costumes turned out too cute. They didn't win any awards at the Halloween contest in town, but they got lots of compliments on their costumes. At least 4 people asked how we made them. We started with two large boxes, hot-glued Rubbermaid TakeAlongs containers to the front and then spray painted the whole thing. You could use butter tubs if you can eat 12 tubs of butter in a month. Ha. Ha. I had to buy Drew red sweats and Blake black sweatpants. So the both the costumes ended up costing us less than $20.

My personal favorite at the contest was this kid. He was dressed as a presidential candidate on CNN.

Children of the corn

I haven't posted in awhile, but here's some pictures of some of the stuff we've been doing this Fall. Today we went to the pumpkin farm where we took a hayride, climbed a pyramid of straw bales, went through some mazes and fed some goats.

Over the weekend, we visited the Godfrey Corn Maze again. The kids played in a corn pit. Drew was picking up corn and going over to a nearby lake to throw the corn. I look over at him and he is PEEING in the lake! I'm like, "What the $%#@ are you doing?" I guess the camping trip earlier that weekend gave him the idea.

A yummy day

Here's some pictures from a trip to the apple farm. We picked apples from the trees: Jonathan and Gala.

We saw a friendly kitty who followed us into the orchards.

They had a great playground much to their delight.
